Withdrawing From Courses



Procedure for Withdrawal:

1.   Drop/Addform is available on the Registrar’s Web page. Click on “Forms”, select “Drop/Add” form and print it. Year abroad/non-degree students may obtain the form from the “International Student Services Office”, students with undeclared major may obtain the form from “Freshman Advising Office”.     

2.   Complete the form and secure approvals from your advisor and the chair of your department of major, the Director of International Student Services (if you are a year abroad/non-degree student), or the Freshmen Advisor (if you are an undeclared student). 

3.   For any Hard Core course, except ECLT or ARBS courses, obtain the approval of the Core Curriculum Advisor.

4.   Submit the drop form to the Office of the University Registrar in person. A grade of “W” signifying “withdrawn” will be posted to your transcript for courses dropped during this period.

Students withdrawing from courses after Monday 12 September 2005 are not entitled to a refund.

Withdrawing from Courses with Grades of ‘WP’ or ‘WF’:
Sixth week to twelfth week of classes: 10 October – 
5 December 2005 

Procedure for Withdrawal:

1.     Drop/Addform is available on the Registrar’s Web page. Click on “Forms”, select “Drop/Add” form and print it. Year abroad/non-degree students may obtain the form from the “International Student Services Office”, students with undeclared major may obtain the form from “Freshman Advising Office”.     

2.     Complete the form and secure approvals from your advisor and the chair of your department of major, the Director of International Student Services (if you are a year abroad/non-degree student), or the Freshmen Advisor (if you are an undeclared student). In addition, obtain an assessment of your performance from the instructor of the course you are dropping, either WP (withdrawn passing) or WF (withdrawn failing).

3.     For any Hard Core course, except ECLT or ARBS courses, obtain the approval of the Core Curriculum Advisor.

4.     Submit the drop form to the Office of the University Registrar.  A grade of WP or WF will be entered on the transcript for courses dropped during this period.

  • Students withdrawing from courses after 12 September 2005 are not entitled to a refund.
