| Course planning forms are available in your department of major and at the Office of the University Registrar. -
Check your ‘registration status’ from the menu ‘Student Services’. Clear your hold(s) prior to the advising/registration period. A hold on your screen will not allow you to register for courses. -
Check your “Account Summary” on the Web. Get to the “Student Services” Menu and under “Student Records” click on “Account Summary”. Check if you have any outstanding balances. Settle payment before advising/registration period and Check your hold with the Accounts Office room Main 155. -
View your “Degree Audit Report” on ‘Web for Students’. Select the option from the “Student Service” menu. This report includes the courses you have completed and their grades, the courses for which you are currently registered and your remaining course requirements. Make sure to check this report before advising/registration for the Summer session 2007 to ensure that you are aware of all graduation requirements. -
Make an appointment with your Academic Advisor in your Department of Major. Make sure to see your academic advisor for help with course selection. -
Follow your degree program requirements. -
Complete the core curriculum requirements and the Arabic Language and Literature requirements before your senior year. -
Make sure you avoid conflict between courses you are selecting. -
Make sure you have satisfied the prerequisites for each course you select. -
Check the exam schedule to make sure that only one course is scheduled for each examination period. Keep in mind that if you choose two or more courses with final examinations scheduled for the same day, no special arrangements can be made to reschedule any of these exams. · Please note that you can not take more than one course during the three - week session A and/or session B. -
Check your earned hours from the ‘registration status’ then add to it what you are enrolled for during the current semester. You need this information in order to know the time of your registration on the web.

If you are planning to take an overload, you can obtain an "Overload Request form" to the Office of the University Registrar during the period from 18 -29 March 2007 for Summer Session 2007. Forms are available on the Registrar's web page. Please note the following: · Only Junior and senior students are allowed to request an overload. · The office of the University Registrar will not accept overload forms submitted by Freshmen or Sophomore students. · Students have to be in good academic standing and should have a valid reason for the overload. · Four days after submitting the form to the Office of the University Registrar, students are to check the decision on their audit report on the web – “Section I – Comments”. · Overload is not applied to the three - week session A and/or session B.

Observe the “Pre-requisite Requirements” and “Permission of Instructor” required for certain courses. Secure the Department’s Chair approval and the Instructor’s permission if the pre-requisite is waived or permission is granted on a: -

“Consent of Instructor” form
Both formns are available at your departement of major. -
Proceed to the Department Assistant with the signed form/s to place the permission on the system. You will not be able to process Web registration for that course if you do not complete this step.

Make sure to register for the lab which is associated with a course, that requires both a lecture and a lab. -
Obtain approvals on the “Independent Study” form (if any) ,available at the Departments of Major, and submit it to the department offering the course. The department assistant will register the course for you on-line. -
Make sure to plan for four alternative courses/sections in case places are not available in your original plan of courses. -
Complete the “Course Planning” form, sign it and obtain signature of the academic advisor on the form. -
Add ‘call number’ of courses on the planning form; this will help you when you register on the Web. -
Submit a copy of the “Course Planning” form to the department assistant in your department of major and make sure to release your advising hold before you enter ‘Web for Students’ for registration.
